Resilience in students with disabilities is of utmost importance, since it allows them to face adversities in the process of training in higher education, so they require positive environments that motivate and contribute to the achievement of their goals. This research relates concepts of resilience and disability in a set of criteria that involves the family as the first social organization, therefore, it aims to identify the family as a space of resilience in people with different abilities from the faculty of humanistic sciences and social. For which a non-experimental type methodology was used, with an inductive-deductive approach, it was based on the descriptive, bibliographic method. The interview technique was used and as an instrument the interview guide and the Mexican RESIM resilience scale applied to a population and sample of 5 families of students of the faculty with families with disabilities. La investigación tuvo como objetivo describir el impacto del consumo de drogas en la estructura familiar de pacientes que asisten al Centro Especializado en Tratamiento a Personas con Consumo Problemático de Alcohol y otras Drogas. Se adoptó un enfoque cualitativo, descriptivo y analítico, se realizaron entrevistas mediante una guía semiestructurada a cinco pacientes en rehabilitación y a los miembros de sus familias, con el fin de obtener una interpretación profunda de la situación. Los hallazgos destacan cómo el consumo de drogas afecta negativamente las relaciones dentro de la estructura familiar de los pacientes. The research aimed to describe the impact of drug use on the family structure of patients attending the Specialized Treatment Center for People with Problematic Alcohol and Other Drug Use. A qualitative, descriptive, and analytical approach was adopted, and interviews were conducted using a semi-structured guide with five patients in rehabilitation and their family members, in order to obtain a deep interpretation of the situation. The findings highlight how drug use negatively affects relationships within the patients' family structure. Alterations in family dynamics and interactions were observed, underscoring the complexity of the addiction problem.
