La Minería Artesanal y de Pequeña Escala (MAPE) contribuye al desarrollo y futuro económico en el Perú, Carabaya, provincia de Puno donde esta actividad cuenta con varios yacimientos mineros, los cuales están generando grandes cantidades de relaves y residuos, restos que han sido depositados sin un tratamiento ambiental adecuado y que contienen mineral sulfurado; en estas condiciones se puede generar drenaje ácido de roca (DAR), exponiendo la salud humana y los ecosistemas aledaños en peligro. En la ciudad de Oruro, las colas de Frankeita están ubicadas en la Quebrada del Valle La Colorada, alcanzando las riberas de la quebrada. De acuerdo a su elevado Potencial Neto de Neutralización (NNP) de - 470.4 kg CaCO3/tonelada y su contribución de carga de metales pesados, estas colas han sido catalogadas como el Pasivo Ambiental Minero (PAM) de “mayor potencial generador de drenaje ácido” en Bolivia; y por tanto, “priorizada” para su inmediata remediación. Los drenajes ácidos de roca que genera el PAM de Frankeita, presentan un pH de 2.5 y elevadas concentraciones de metales pesados disueltos, que drenan directamente a la cuenca vertiente del sector, y que llegan finalmente hasta el Lago Uru Uru. The ecosystem services provided by Lake Titicaca in the Interior Bay of Puno (BIP) are overused to stimulate local economic development without taking into account the environmental impacts produced. The objective of the research was to estimate the willingness to pay of foreign tourists visiting the BIP for the implementation of improvement alternatives on biodiversity, ecotourism boardwalk and decontamination of the bay. Semi-structured surveys were applied to national and foreign tourists (n=400) who visited the BIP during October 2019.
