El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo principal el análisis psicométrico de la Batería de Evaluación Verbal para Trastornos de Aprendizaje (BEVTA), instrumento de evaluación psicopedagógica con una clara formulación teórica, diseñada y normada en Chile. Se trabajó con 447 participantes de 7 a 12 años, de ambos sexos, que habían sido evaluados con dicho instrumento en los años 1996 al 2004. La metodología utilizada fue de tipo descriptivo-psicométrico y el diseño de investigación fue el descriptivo comparativo. A partir de los resultados obtenidos se concluye que los cuatro subtest del instrumento analizado no presentan una elevada confiabilidad ni validez de constructo; sin embargo, sí se reporta validez relacionada con el criterio.

Positive Youth Development (PYD) is an approach that promotes resilience and focuses on youth strengths rather than their weaknesses as done by the traditional deficit-based perspective. Research in Europe and North America show that developmental assets are associated with school success, psychological well-being, and lower health risks among youth and young adults. However, not much research has been done on these associations in Latin American contexts. El apoyo social es un concepto fundamental que describe cómo las relaciones humanas positivas y las redes sociales permiten a las personas superar eventos estresantes y encontrarse en un estado de relativo bienestar. Este estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar las propiedades psicométricas de Social Support Appraisals Scale (SS-A) en una muestra peruana. Los participantes fueron 417 estudiantes universitarios de Lima Metropolitana. (Medad = 21.78, DE = 4.09). The main aim of the study was to examine the mediating role of Facebook intrusion between positive capital and general distress. Positive capital was considered as comprising self-esteem, ego-resiliency, and self-control, while general distress was seen as having three dimensions: depression, anxiety, and stress.

Background. The COVID-19 pandemic has subjected people around the world to severe stress, evoking a variety of coping responses. Coping responses can be broadly classified into four strategies: 1) problem-focused coping; 2) emotion-focused coping; 3) socially supported coping; and 4) avoidance. While there is a wide variability of individual coping responses, to some extent they are also culturally specific. Objective. This study aimed to compare the differences in the prevalence and factor structure of coping responses during COVID-19 pandemic in three countries: Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Peru. Design. The sample included 501 participants from Russia, 456 participants from Kyrgyzstan, and 354 participants from Peru.
