Se han estudiado quince mujeres en un servicio de infectologia de un Hospital General de la ciudad de Lima (Perú). Todas estas pacientes pertenecen a los estratos E o D y solicitaron intervenciones profesional por adolecer de alguna complicación de la infección por el virus de la inmudeficiencia humana (VIH). Durante las entrevistas psicológicas se comprobó que consumían sustancias adictivas a pesar de estar recibiendo tratamiento intensivo para la infección viral que consistía en la administración simultánea de varios fármacos antirretrovirales. The case of a 32 years old. male patient who since age 17 has experienced constrictive headaches of several minutes’ duration, triggered by physical effort is reported. For the last seven years there, he has presented a progressive cognitive decline cognitive, and marked personality changes, having become extremely dependent even for conducting elemental activities.
