The disease by the new coronavirus strain (COVID-19) has been classified as apandemic by the WHO. In Peru, a state of national emergency and compulsory socialisolation had been declared since 15 March. Global health systems have been greatlyimpacted by COVID-19, which forced health systems, societies and medicalassociations to design prioritized intervention strategies to provide continuity of patientcare in infected areas and COVID-19-free areas. A cancer patient is classified asvulnerable and represents a risk factor for complications due to COVID-19, such asadmission to the intensive care unit, intubation, and early death due to infection due toCOVID-19. Objetivos: Evaluar el comportamiento de seroprevalencia del virus linfotrópico humano, en Lima, a fin de proponer la utilización de leucorreducción en componentes sanguíneos. Diseño: Estudio retrospectivo, aleatorio y transversal. Institución: Instituto de Investigaciones Clínicas, Facultad de Medicina, UNMSM. Participantes: Bancos de Sangre. Intervenciones: Se consideró al Banco de Sangre del Hospital Dos de Mayo, con un total de 45 041 donantes, de un total de 60 705, de enero de 2002 a octubre de 2011. La población estudiada fue 70% de varones y 30% mujeres, entre 18 y 60 años. Principales medidas de resultados: Prevalencia de HTLV-I-II en donantes de sangre de Lima. This study delves into the photochemical atmospheric changes reported globally during the pandemic by analyzing the change in emissions from mobile sources and the contribution of local meteorology to ozone (O3) and particle formation in Bogotá (Colombia), Santiago (Chile), and São Paulo (Brazil). The impact of mobility reductions (50%–80%) produced by the early coronavirus-imposed lockdown was assessed through high-resolution vehicular emission inventories, surface measurements, aerosol optical depth and size, and satellite observations of tropospheric nitrogen dioxide (NO2) columns. A generalized additive model (GAM) technique was also used to separate the local meteorology and urban patterns from other drivers relevant for O3 and NO2 formation.
