This article examines the role of transmedia journalism in the Peruvian newspaper La República during the week following the death of terrorist Abimael Guzmán. Among its objectives, it identifies the predominant characteristics of transmedia journalism in the construction of journalistic content disseminated on the media outlet’s digital platforms. Using the concepts of expansion, depth, and extractability, it studies how the different elements that constitute news contribute to the elaboration of information. This is a descriptive case study, with a predominantly qualitative and applied approach, focused on the digital platforms of the newspaper La República. Esta tesis analiza la función del periodismo transmedia del diario La República durante la semana posterior a la muerte del terrorista Abimael Guzmán y tiene como objetivo principal determinar cuáles son las características del periodismo transmedia que predominan en la construcción del contenido periodístico que el medio comparte en sus plataformas digitales. Mediante ejes como expansión, profundidad y extrabilidad, se explica cómo funcionan los elementos que se incluyen en las notas periodísticas, además de determinar cómo aparecen en la construcción de la noticia.
