El tratamiento con regeneración ósea guiada es considerada actualmente una terapia predecible para promover la regeneración de hueso en los maxilares con la finalidad de crear un lecho para el posicionamiento de los implantes. La estomatitis subprotésica (E.S.P.) es un proceso inflamatorio asociado a la utilización de prótesis dentales removibles, caracterizado por el enrojecimiento persistente del área de soporte de una prótesis removible. Es uno de los tipos de candidiasis más frecuentes de la cavidad oral. Su tratamiento se encamina a eliminar los factores causales, control microbiano, higienización y en dado caso, reemplazo de la prótesis por una nueva. A continuación se presenta un caso de un paciente masculino que presenta deficiente adaptación y lesiones a nivel de la mucosa bucal similares a una estomatitis subprotésica . Se instauró un tratamiento integral mejorando el estado de salud oral del paciente.
