This paper presents a literature review of the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) applied to natural disasters in South America. The review focuses on the last ten years (2009 - 2019), in free access and paid databases.83% are in Spanish and 17% in English. Most of the investigations deal with shipping and delivery of products, but there are also papers on programming and routing of personnel, such as volunteers, humanitarian logistics specialists, medical personnel, and military personnel. In the review, several characteristics of the problem have been taken into account, such as, the type of disaster, the VRP model used, the solution method employed, the use or not of parameters with uncertainty. El objetivo de la tesis es encontrar la ruta óptima para la distribución de ayuda humanitaria desde depósitos a los diferentes puntos de entrega en cada zona afectada, buscando minimizar los costos de transporte y el tiempo de reparto ya que este es crucial en la etapa post desastre. En primer lugar, se presenta una introducción a los conceptos de localización y ruteo de vehículos. Seguidamente se realiza una investigación sobre el niño costero y los daños ocasionados en el departamento de Piura, como consecuencia de los riesgos de desborde del río Piura e inundación pluvial en los diferentes distritos considerados en esta investigación. Finalmente se detalla el modelo matemático a desarrollar, su función objetivo y restricciones.
