La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar si los factores estresantes influyen en el uso de las estrategias de afrontamiento en los estudiantes de una universidad privada. Para ello se trabajó con una muestra de 240 estudiantes del VI ciclo de las escuelas profesionales de derecho, ingeniería civil e ingeniería ambiental de una universidad privada del cono norte, a quienes se les aplicó la Escala de Factores Estresantes y el Inventario de Estrategias de Afrontamiento de Cabanch, Valle, Rodríguez y Piñiero (2008). Concluyendo que, el clima social negativo, la sobrecarga académica, las deficiencias metodológicas y la carencia del valor de contenidos no influyen en las estrategias de afrontamiento alto. La presente investigación tiene como finalidad establecer la relación entre el clima social familiar, inteligencia emocional y el rendimiento académico en alumnos de quinto año de secundaria de Ventanilla. La muestra estuvo conformada por 600 estudiantes de quinto de secundaria de ambos sexos, a quienes se le aplicó la escala del clima social familiar de Moors y trickett, el inventario de la inteligencia emocional de Bar-On y el rendimiento académico se obtuvo de las notas del curso de comunicación y matemática. Los resultados mostraron que existe relación entre las dimensiones del clima social familiar, la inteligencia emocional con el rendimiento académico en el curso de comunicación. The research aimed to establish the differences in the emotional intelligence of students in the first cycle of a private university. The Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory was applied to a sample consisting of 1,940 male and female subjects from 16 to 25 years old. Crossover design was used with a significance level of 0.05 (p <0.05) and found no statistically significant difference regarding sex between the following components: interpersonal component, stress management and general mood. There are differences regarding the type of school in total emotional quotient, intrapersonal component, adaptability, stress management, the subcomponents of self-knowledge, assertiveness, self-concept, self-realization, social responsibility, problem solving, reality testing, flexibility, stress management, impulse control and optimism.

The family is the system that teaches through communication, forming relationship patterns that the members are practicing in other contexts. The objective of this research was to characterize communication in nuclear families with adolescent children, as a binding entity within the family system. This study was descriptive observational with a qualitative approach. 10 nuclear families with adolescent children between 13 and 17 years old participated, selected with incidental non probalistic sampling.
