El presente estudio evaluó el efecto de la luz sobre las variables productivas; tasa de crecimiento especifico (SGR), ganancia de peso acumulado (GP), índice de crecimiento (IC), factor de conversión alimenticio (FCA) y sobrevivencia (S%) de post larvas de camarón blanco (Penaeus vannamei) en un sistema de recirculación de agua de mar. Se trabajó con organismos de un peso promedio inicial de 0,006 ± 0,0007 g los cuales fueron cultivados en tanques de fibra de vidrio de 35 L de capacidad conexionados a un sistema de recirculación, a una densidad de cultivo de 10 post larvas/litro. Se trabajó con 3 tratamientos: oscuridad 24 horas (0 lux), 24 horas luz natural con un promedio de 25 lux ± 10 lux y luz artificial continua 24 horas (1400 ± 100 lux) con 7 réplicas por tratamiento. Arapaima gigas is a fish native to the Amazon that has generated great interest for aquaculture due to its characteristics that favor cultivation. However, one of the first difficulties in the fish farming especially of piscivorous habits is the weaning of live food to dry balanced diets. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the use of artemia in the weaning of balanced feed of A. gigas. We used 749 fish (1,61 ± 0,26 g and 6,49 ± 0,32 cm) that were conditioned in glass aquariums with 60 L of water. For the first day they were fed with artemia nauplii only to apparent satiety, the second to the eighth day was nauplii gradually reduced and the balanced food powder (50% PB) was increasing.
