The author reviews the actual criteria for the treatment of the advanced carcinoma of the cervix, he presents his experience of 55 cases treated with pelvic exenteration at the instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas, Lima Perú , between 1953 and 1965. The overall survival rate in his serie was 11 %; several tables with morbidity and mortality data are presented. The author remarks the circumstances and procedures useful for the opportune radical treatment of the advanced carcinoma of the cervix.

The problem of radical surgery in gynecological cancer was presented by Dr. Luis Esteves in relation to the casuistry and experience in the Dept. Of Obstetrics INEN of which he is chief from 1952 to 1959; after which he believed a duty to inform the society and gynecologists colleagues in general, the work accomplished in that period of seven years. This made the work refers exclusively to surgical treatment, noting that the radical and ultra-radical pelvic surgery cancer in women was introduced in our country, for him, with the cooperation of Dr. Castiellano in 1952. He also placed on record also in other centers, especially in the service of gynecology Pab 5 II Loayza Hospital, after other gynecologists grown in limited aspects of such radical surgery.

The authors have studied 9 cases of primary carcinoma of the Fallopian tube; this means an incidence of 0.09 % in a total of 9266 malignant tumors of the genital tract observed at the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas, Lima Perú, between 1952 and 1966. The patients had an average age of 50 years, range 33-70; the treatment was surgical and radiation, and the overall survival rate was 22 %.

Basal cell carcinoma of the vulva is a very rare lesion, and occupies the fourth place in the total of malignant tumors of the vulva attended at the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplasicas of Lima, with an incidence of 2,7 per cent. The simple vulvectomy is the most adequate from of therapy when the basal cell carcinoma is present by itself, i.e. pure. The radical vulvectomy and bilateral regional node dissection must be practiced in all cases of basal squamous cells lesions.
