Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de conocimiento y de respuesta de la población ante el riesgo por sismos en el departamento de Ica. Método: La metodología fue de tipo básico basada fundamentalmente en la observación de fenómenos tal y como se dan en su contexto natural con un enfoque cualitativo, el estudio descriptivo, contando con un diseño no experimental de método. La población objeto de estudio, está constituida por 975 182 habitantes del departamento de Ica. La muestra fue de tipo aleatoria- sistemática y su tamaño se calculó usando la fórmula de población finita resultando ser conformada por 384 habitantes del departamento de Ica. Los sismos son eventos adversos naturales que generan pérdidas humanas y daños materiales. El objetivo del estudio fue analizar la sismicidad y percepción del riesgo en el departamento de Ica, Perú. Se seleccionó la ciudad de Pisco por el antecedente sismológico que se registró el 15 de agosto de 2007. Mediante un muestreo probabilístico aleatorio, 10 viviendas a 1 Km de distancia entre ellas y cercanas a la línea de costa fueron seleccionadas para el análisis de vulnerabilidad. The aim of the study was to describe the intellectual function of working memory capacity (WMC) in university students from a case study. The study was conducted from June to July 2022 and in a random probabilistic way, six research seed students belonging to the National University "San Luis Gonzaga" (Ica, Peru) were selected.
