Introduction: University social responsibility is present in the discourses of academics, but it fails to permeate the actions that lead to the transformation of the university, requiring a paradigm shift. Objective: Determine knowledge and attitudes about voluntary blood donation of nursing and medical students from a public University 2018. Material and Method: applied research, with a quantitative approach, descriptive-comparative, cross-sectional study. The sample included 59 nursing students and 64 medical students. The survey was used as a technique and as instruments a questionnaire for knowledge and a modified Likert-type scale for attitudes, with prior consent informed. Comprende y construye las representaciones sociales sobre el cuidado del niño de los estudiantes de enfermería de la UNMSM.
