It is known that poverty and health is an interrelated phenomenon. The poorest countries have poor health indicators in relation to the countries with the highest incomes, and within each country the poorest people with health problems. This association reflects a causal relationship that works in both directions: poverty generates poor health, and poor health perpetuates poverty (vicious circle of poverty-disease) 1. However, it also means that people with problems of health do not have the same conditions as others, because these inequalities correspond to the limitations and opportunities different from each other and with others, and not with a tendency of sometimes different groups. Objective: To determine the factors associated with knowledge on the prevention of gastric cancer in patients attended at the external office of the Vitarte Hospital in September - November 2017. Methods: Cross-sectional, analytical and observational study. The sample consisted of 321 patients who met the selection criteria. The knowledge level test on gastric cancer prevention and the Graffar test was applied. The statistical software IBM SPSS version 23 was used to analyze the data. Results: 62% of the surveyed population obtained a medium level of knowledge. In addition, the association of the level of knowledge, work situation, access to the internet and the socioeconomic stratum was statistically significant (p = 0.019, p = 0.018, p = 0.001). Conclusion: It is concluded that the level of low and medium knowledge about gastric cancer prevention was significantly associated with havin...

Objective: To determine the association between knowledge and feeding practices in pregnant women attended in a Hospital in Lima, 2017. Methods: The study design is observational, quantitative, analytical and transversal. A sample of 279 pregnant women was selected who attended in Hospital Vitarte during the month of September 2017, evaluated by the surveys that measured the study parameters. Later, the data were analyzed by the statistical SPSS version 22. The frequencies of the main variables were obtained, for the degree of association the basis of the calculation of the probabilities and the 95% confidence intervals were applied. In addition, the significant chi square was analyzed with p <0.05. Results: It was demonstrated that knowledge about feeding and feeding practices in pregnant women had no significant participation (p = 0.51, OR = 1.4, 95% CI: 0.63-2.45). In additio...
