In 64 samples (1,152 specimens) from the mollusk Aulacomya ater "choro" gotten from Lima and Callao markets, It was isolated three main bacterial groups: Enteric, Streptococci and Micrococci. The high average of E. coli; from "choro" uncooked (part a) and "cebiche” (part c), show us, human fecal contamination as in the Quantitative Analysis. On the other hand occurs that the group Enterococci is only in "choro" uncooked. It is important to remark the relationship between E. coli, Streptococcus Lancenfield group D, in each part of fixing "cebiche", besides the latter microorganisms occurs with high frequency in "cebiche" (part a) as a result of using condiments and manipulation.

We have determined quantitatively Coliforms and Enterococcus in the mollusk Aulacomya ater "choro", as an index of human enteric contamination during the preparing process of "cebiche". There have been processed 1152 specimens from Lima and Callao markets. The highest average of contamination for both microbial groups, in choros uncooked (part a), from markets situated in places with little hygiene' conditions and more population. The environmental temperature in summer’ months show us an increscent of this kind of microbial organisms. The temperature of cooking from specimens before preparing “cebiche” (part b), gets to kill all the microbial forms, reappearing Coliforms (part c), as a result of the addition of condiments. The lemon juice did not actuate as effective bactericidal.

One hundred and forty five cellulolytic thermophilic actinomycete strains were isolated from 71 compost, soil, hay and dung samples. Streptomyces sp. (50,63%), Thermomonospora curvata (15,82%), T. chromogena (13,92%), and other species were identified. Endoglucanase, exoglucanase and β-glucosidase activities were evaluated from 10 cellulolytic actinomycete strains. Among these the Streptomyces sp. 7CMC10 strain showed the biggest activity levels corresponding to 20,14; 2,61 and 5,40 UI/mg of protein, respectively.

Objective: To assess in vitro sensitivity / resistance of biofilms and planktonic populations of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from a hospital environment to ciprofloxacin and to compare them against the results of standard susceptibility test obtained. Design: Microbiological study. Setting: Molecular Microbiology Laboratory, Faculty of Biological Sciences, UNMSM. Biologic material: Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains. Interventions: Resistant and susceptible strains obtained form Hospital del Niño were tested for minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC); then biofilms were formed on filtration membranes, and planktonic cultures in broth were tested with different ciprofloxacin concentrations, with plate count at 40 minutes intervals and 24 hours after exposure. Main outcome measures: In vitro susceptibility / resistance of hospital origin Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms and planktonic populations. ...
