The curriculum of the medical profession, unlike other professions curriculum, has, for a long time, a cycle which professional practices, to be developed almost full time in a health institution is called boarding. This cycle is intended that the student, alongside the knowledge, exercise in coping with real situations that will gradually understanding the reality of the profession. From the perspective of the curriculum, the boarding becomes the counterpart of all the subjects, to the extent that in this cycle the inner, facing problems, you should know mobilize all their knowledge, skills and attitudes to solve a real situation.

Following the protocol used during previous work undertaken at University of San Marcos, and in order to provide further knowledge on the sexual response of pregnant women, a prospective, descriptive study was made on 121 pregnant women aged 16 and more, between 36 and 41 weeks of pregnancy, and before labor. These women had been living with the father of the child to be, for at least six months and during their pregnancy. They did not have any medical complication nor any impediment for a normal sexual life.Desire, frequency and response, including orgasm and any obstacle to normal sexual life, compared with the pre pregnancy state, were studied.We found a diminished desire, frequency and response during first trimester, returning to almost pre preg. nancy levels in the second trimester, but with pronounced decrease in the third trimester. A 0.23% incidence of benign Hydatidiform Mole, comparable with similar groups of patients is found at the Hospital Materno Infantil de San Bartolomé in Lima. Most of the 13 cases reported occurred in young to middle-age women, parous three or more, although 30% were first pregnancies. The most common symptoms were vaginal bleeding (100%), vomiting, softness (46.1 %) and excessive growth of the uterus (61.5%). Toxemic symptoms were present in only 23% of the women. Evacuation was accomplish by oxytocin followed by curettage in 53.7% of the cases. In the remaining ones hysterotomy was necessary and a 30.7% incidence of lutein cysts was detected. A low incidence of complications, absence of malign transformation and of maternal death are reported.
