Introduction: Participations of obstetric interns in hospital practice are relevant to strengthen professional skills and their future job development. However, this was affected by COVID-19, making it necessary to reflect the national reality to contribute to better university management. Objective: To explore the perception of obstetric interns regarding hospital practices in times of COVID-19 in Peru during 2020. Materials and Methods: Qualitative approach study with phenomenological design where 80 obstetric interns, representatives of each hospital headquarters, from different regions of Peru. Objective: To determine the perspectives of midwifery students regarding the return to the theoretical and practical university activities in the context of a pandemic. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional analytical study involving 115 second- to fifth-year midwifery students from a public university in Lima. The number of students who agreed to return to the theoretical and practical activities, the resources they had and their family situation were evaluated. Adjusted associations were estimated using Poisson regression. Results: Fifty-eight point two six percent (58.26 %) [95 % CI: 48.93 – 67.03 %] of the participants agreed to returnto virtual theoretical activities and 6.09 % [95 % CI: 2.89 – 12,34 %] to hospital practical activities. Introducción: La participación de personal calificado en la atención prenatal, parto, puerperio y del recién nacido son relevantes para disminuir las morbimortalidades maternas perinatales. Sin embargo, se desconoce si existe personal no apropiado para la realización de estas funciones en las regiones del Perú.
