INTRODUCCIÓN: El profesional médico es una persona calificada y desarrollada en el campo de las ciencias de la salud, su formación académica no solo debe enfocar las habilidades de práctica clínica, sino también, en las habilidades blandas como la empatía, para optimizar un mejor servicio hacia el paciente. Este aspecto ha cobrado mucha relevancia en estos últimos años, en la Asociación Americana de Colegios Médicos y en el medio local el Colegio Médico del Perú. Objective: The objective of this study was to analyze the use of teaching strategies by professors in the thesis advising process to develop research competencies in students in the last cycles of higher education.
