The aim of the present study was to evaluate the larvicidal toxicity of aqueous suspensions from ethanol extracts of Annona muricata L. «custard apple» seeds, flowers, leaves, stem bark and root bark on fourth instar larvae of Aedes aegypti L. (Diptera: Culicidae) as well as to determinate susceptibility level . The highest larvicidal toxic effect was to the seeds suspension with 100% mortality at 0,5 mg/mL from 24 hours of exposure, and flowers suspension at 10 mg/mL from 48 hours of exposure and leaves suspension at 100 mg/mL from 36 hours of exposure. In seed suspension, lethal concentrations 50% (LC50) and 90% (LC90 ) values were 0,02 mg/mL and 0,11 mg/mL, in flowers suspensions were 3,33 mg/mL and 12,16 mg/mL, in leaf suspensions were 8,25 y 26,87 mg/mL and stem bark suspensions were 97,23 mg/mL, respectively. Log-dosage/probit lines indicated homogeneous responses towards the fiv...

The aim of this research work was evaluate toxic activity of ethanolic extracts from Argemone subfusiformis “Holy thistle” & Tagetes patula “French marigold” leaves against Aedes aegypti fourth instar larvae and pupae were evaluated. Bioassay and extract processing were performed in Entomology Laboratory of National University of Trujillo, Perú, from April to December, 2007, outlined by World Health Organization (2005) standard protocol. Larvae and pupae mortality rates reached using A. subfusiformis extract were 100% with concentrations of 76,8 mg/L. and 153,6 mg/L. at 12 hours of exposure, while pupae mortality was to a concentration of 153,6 mg/L. at 24 hours of exposure. By using T. patula extract mortality rates reached were 92% and 77% on larvae and pupae, respectively with a concentration of 153,6 mg/L. at 48 hours of exposure. A. subfusiformis extracts showed LC50 an...

Vitis vinifera «grape» is one edible fruit vine of importance in agriculture activities, besides to have medical properties related to bioactive natural products knowing as anthocyanins, that, they exhibit antioxidative, anticancerigen and cardiotonic activities. In this paper, a system of suspension cell cultures from Vitis vinifera «vid» var. red globe was established to determine the effect of the concentration of sucrose on anthocyanins yield. Different concentrations of sucrose (0 mM, 58 mM, 132 mM and 175 mM) into Basal culture Media (BM) supplemented with separated concentrations of naftalnacetic acid and kinetine as Inductor Media (IM), were applied. Anthocyanins yield were increased in according to increment of sucrose concentration (132mM) in the cell culture. Significant differences among the treatments were founded.
