Este estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar la asociación entre factores de riesgo maternos y características perinatológicas en recién nacidos de madres con infección por VIH, utilizando un diseño de caso-control en partos ocurridos en los últimos 10 años en el Hospital Santa Rosa. Se analizaron 90 casos y 399 controles, con una media de edad de 27,5 años. Los resultados mostraron una asociación significativa entre ser primigesta (OR=1,75), historia de ITS (OR=2,58), y varios factores perinatales como el inicio tardío de controles prenatales y el uso de terapia antirretroviral (TAR). El valor de CD4 y la carga viral indetectable se asociaron con mejores resultados perinatales. Actinomycosis is a rare infection caused by Actinomyces spp, a gram-positive germ of saprophytic nature, located in the mouth, genital tract and lower gastrointestinal tract. Its diagnosis is difficult because of its low frequency and variable clinical presentation. We report the case of a 28-year-old female, 34½ weeks pregnant, who presented a pelvic and hypogastric mass accompanied by abdominal pain. One day before admission, the contraction-like pain in the right iliac fossa intensified. The patient underwent a cesarean section and a full-term product was obtained.
