El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar la influencia del cambio de tuberías en la vulnerabilidad sísmica de la red de agua potable de la ciudad de Huaraz. Se supuso un sismo de intensidad IX en la escala de Mercalli en la ciudad de Huaraz. Se estimó el número de roturas en la red de distribución del distrito de Huaraz antes y después del cambio de tuberías.
