Abortion for medical health reasons is not penalized by the Peruvian Penal Code 1924. This norm has not been applied as Clinical Practice Guidelines or Regulations are lacking. The basic conditions include abortion should be performed by a physician, when it is the only way to save a pregnant woman’s life or to prevent serious and permanent complications, and with consent from the woman or from his legal representative. There is a series of documents that Peru has subscribed in matters of human rights that compromise implementation of legal abortion service: the Convention on Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women, CEDAW; the Cairo Conference Action Program (CIPD), the Beijing Conference on Women. The Zika virus is a mosquito-borne flavivirus that has emerged as a significant threat in the region of the Americas, especially for pregnant women. Recent outbreaks in Central and South America have been associated with an increase in the incidence of microcephaly and other central nervous system abnormalities in newborns. There is a causal link between Zika infection during pregnancy and microcephaly and other neurological disorders. The region faces a probable epidemic with potential consequences for pregnant women and newborns. The epidemiology of the Zika virus, its threat to pregnancy, clinical consequences and impact on public health are reviewed. Objetivos: Determinar la variación de la fecundidad y el uso de métodos anticonceptivos en una población intervenida por el proyecto promoción y capacitación sin letras en salud reproductiva con perspectiva de género. Diseño: Estudio de Impacto. Lugar: Zonas nativas de la selva peruana, Pebas, Yanashi, Pucaurquillo y Santo Tomás. Institución: Inppares. Participantes: usuarias de los servicios de salud reproductiva de los establecimientos de salud, analfabetas o semianalfabetas (20 y 35 años).
