Objetivo: Determinar la frecuencia de presentación, así como, las manifestaciones clínicas, tratamiento y evolución de la Enfermedad de Behcet en el Hospital Arzobispo Loayza (HAL) durante el periodo 1992 - 2001. Material y Métodos: Se realizó un estudio retrospectivo descriptivo en el HAL durante el periodo de 1992 a 2001. Se revisaron las historias clínicas de los pacientes que estuvieron hospitalizados y que acudieron a consultorios externos de los servicios de Oftalmología y Medicina y, tuvieron como diagnóstico final Enfermedad de Behcet. Objective: To describe clinical, image, and laboratory findings in patients with eye toxocariasis seen in three of the main ophthalmology services in three national hospitals in Lima, Peru.   Material and method: records of patients with a presumptive diagnosis of ocular toxocariosis between January 1997 and January 2010 in Cayetano Heredia National Hospital, Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital and the Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño (national reference center for sick children).   Results: Forty-one cases were found. Their ages were between 5 moths and 62 years (11.6 ± 8). The most frequent symptom was reduced visual acuity. Most frequent findings in eye funduscopy and image studies were peripheral granulomata and posterior uveitis.Most patients had positive serology tests for Toxocara canis.   Conclusions: Most patients in this review ere childr...

The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on medical care and medical education in Peru.  In response, the Peruvian American Medical Society (PAMS), a charitable medical organization based in the USA, pursued its medical and educational missions in Peru by adopting virtual learning technology. We developed closer collaborative relationships with several medical schools and the Peruvian Association of Medical Schools (ASPEFAM) while offering a faculty panel of twenty-four members to provide lectures and multidisciplinary webinars in Spanish. We conducted 19 webinars including COVID -19 and non-COVID-19 related topics that over the last two years attracted 14,489 participants from 23 countries.
