Acute Respiratory Infections (IRAS) are the most common childhood illnesses. It is possible to contract them even without risk factors; although, if there are a greater number of factors, the higher the probability of becoming ill. Objective: To determine the environmental factors that are associated with Respiratory Infections in children under 5 years of age who attend the Barranca Hospital. Materials and methods: basic research, with a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional approach. El estudio de enfoque cualitativo busca comprender las vivencias de las madres adolescentes desde la perspectiva cultural. El tipo de estudio fue el descriptivo interpretativo. Como referencial teórico se utilizó la teoría de la interculturalidad de Madeleine Leininger. La población estuvo conformada por 17 madres adolescentes, con una muestra de 10 madres adolescentes, contactadas en el servicio de Gineco-obstetricia de un Hospital del MINSA en Barranca, posteriormente se realizó visitas en sus respectivos domicilios. Se utilizó como técnicas la entrevista y la observación participante utilizando una guía de entrevista y guía de observación. Objective: To investigate for factors associated with non-transmissible diseases and demographic and comorbid conditions among academic and administrative personnel at a Peruvian university. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried-out at a Peruvian university from December 2018 to February 2019 including 150 participants. The Chi square and Fisher’s exact tests were used and odds ratios with 95%CI were calculated, a p value <0,05 was considered statistically significant. Results: 21.3% of participants had one comorbidity; 11.3% were smokers; 25.3% were drinkers; 66.7% consumed vegetables regularly; 82% did not perform physical exercises; 87.3% had dyslipidemia; 10.7% had arterial hypertension; 46.7% were overweight and 27.3% had obesity.
