The effect of different concentrations of Benzylaminopurine (BAP) on the micropropagation of native chili (sweet chili and pucunucho chili) was verified. Seeds were disinfected with 2 % sodium hypochlorite for 30 minutes, rinsed with sterile distilled water and sown in culture medium with salts and vitamins from Murashige & Skoog, supplemented with 30 g L-1 of sucrose, 11 g L-1 of agar and without growth regulators. After 45 days of in vitro development, the seedlings were transferred to Murashige & Skoog medium, adding different concentrations of BAP (0 ppm, 0.5 ppm, 1 ppm and 1.5 ppm). It is concluded that the sanitization of the seeds of sweet chili and pucunucho chili with 2 % sodium hypochlorite for 30 minutes generated 100 % of healthy seeds. The concentrations of BAP studied were effective for the increase in the length of stems, number of roots, number of leaves, nodes an...

Bee’s pollen comes from the flowers of several species of plants. The grains are transported by worker bees to their nests (honeycombs) to be used as a source of nutrients. The objective of this study was to evaluate the microbiological control, the physical chemical composition and to analyze macro and micro minerals, as well as amino acids in dehydrated pollen hives of Melipona seminigra, in rainy periods (PLL) and dry periods (PS) in Amazonas, Brazil. The physical-chemical composition (proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, fibers and ashes) was performed by the AOAC methodology. In meliponícola pollen it was detected the presence of proteins (35,97 - 36,37 g/100g), lipids (22,37 - 29,66 g/100g), ashes (4,46 - 2,83 g/100g) and ratio carbon/nitrogen (8,94 - 8,28 g/100), also minerals like copper, iron, manganese, calcium, potassium, magnesium and phosphorus were present. In the pollen of t...

Experiments using plant extracts to control pests have become promising because they are economically viable and sustainable. The effects of different concentrations of an aqueous extract of Huaca (Clibadium surinamense) to control Monalonion dissimulatum in a cocoa plantation (Theobroma cacao) were evaluated. Extracts from C. surinamense leaves were evaluated at concentrations of 0 %, 5 %, 15 % and 30 %. The severity of fruit damage was evaluated with slightly modified Donis scale (1988), considering five degrees of attack. We used a Randomized Complete Design (RCD) with 4 treatments and 12 replicates, resulting in 48 experimental units. The aqueous extracts of C. surinamense at 15 % and 30 % caused a higher percentage of mortality of M. dissimulatum in the nymphal and adult stages. For attack degree 1, treatments with 5 %, 15 % and 30 % aqueous extracts of C. surinamense showed a signi...

The objective was to study the compatibility and efficiency of Beauveria bassiana and Metarhizium anisopliae for the control of insect pests in cabbage and lettuce grown in an aquaponic system made up of Piaractus brachypomus tanks. Spore solutions of B. bassiana and M. anisopliae were prepared. The data submitted to a Completely Random Design, with four treatments, three repetitions and the averages compared by the 5% Tukey test showed that B. bassiana + M. anisopliae caused 73% mortality of Bemisia tabaci on the underside of the lettuce leaves, B. bassiana revealed 84% mortality for Brevicoryne brassicae L. in the bundle of cabbage leaves in 23 days. On the underside of cabbage leaves, B. bassiana + M. anisopliae, showed 79% mortality in just 6 days and M. anisopliae 88% in 23 days after application. The entomopathogenic fungi B. bassiana + M. anisopliae evaluated were effective for th...
