El presente trabajo de investigación examinó las percepciones de los directivos de instituciones educativas privadas de Lima respecto a las prácticas de liderazgo orientadas por la inteligencia emocional. Se realizó una investigación cualitativa y se efectuaron entrevistas semi estructuradas a 5 directivos. A partir de ellas, se distinguen 2 categorías que envuelven toda la investigación. En cuanto a la primera categoría, el liderazgo educativo, se rescató que es de suma importancia que el directivo tenga un concepto claro e integral acerca los objetivos que desea lograr en la institución que lidera, para una constante búsqueda de mejora y crecimiento, siendo él uno de los factores determinantes para el desarrollo integral de la institución. De acuerdo con las percepciones de la segunda categoría, la inteligencia emocional en la práctica directiva, resaltan que ser inteligente emocionalmente es lograr un vínculo y compromiso primero con uno mismo para relacionarse de manera pertinente con los demás. Además, el liderazgo del directivo que tenga una buena inteligencia emocional será más efectivo y eficiente, de tal manera que va a poder desempeñarse e impactar positivamente en toda su comunidad educativa. |

En cuanto a la primera categoría, el liderazgo educativo, se rescató que es de suma importancia que el directivo tenga un concepto claro e integral acerca los objetivos que desea lograr en la institución que lidera, para una constante búsqueda de mejora y crecimiento, siendo él uno de los factores determinantes para el desarrollo integral de la institución. De acuerdo con las percepciones de la segunda categoría, la inteligencia emocional en la práctica directiva, resaltan que ser inteligente emocionalmente es lograr un vínculo y compromiso primero con uno mismo para relacionarse de manera pertinente con los demás. Además, el liderazgo del directivo que tenga una buena inteligencia emocional será más efectivo y eficiente, de tal manera que va a poder desempeñarse e impactar positivamente en toda su comunidad educativa.This research work demonstrated the perceptions of directors of private educational institutions in Lima regarding leadership practices guided by emotional intelligence. A qualitative investigation was carried out and semi-structured interviews were carried out with 5 managers. From them, 2 categories are distinguished that involve the entire investigation. Regarding the first category, educational leadership, it is highlighted that it is extremely important that the manager have a clear and comprehensive concept about the institution he leads, for a constant search for improvement and growth, being one of the determining factors. for the integral development of the institution. Likewise, the importance of promoting collaborative leadership is evident. According to the results of the second category, emotional intelligence in managerial practice, they highlight that being emotionally intelligent is to achieve a bond and commitment first with oneself to relate in a relevant way with others.
