En el Hospital Central FAP, semanalmente se registra un caso de pancreatitis aguda (PA) atendido en UCI, lo que hace estimar aproximadamente 50 casos para un periodo anual, en quien se ha observado resultados adversos entre complicaciones como fallo multiorgánico o infección, así como mortalidad, principalmente en pacientes que reciben nutrición enteral tardía.
