Se procedió con la entrevista, recolección de datos, los cuales se dividieron a cada paciente en función de la presencia o no de adherencia terapéutica para valorar la frecuencia de disfuncionalidad familiar en cada grupo; posteriormente se calculó el chi cuadrado y el estadígrafo razón de prevalencias. Resultados: No se aprecian diferencias respecto a las variables intervinientes entre los diabéticos con o sin adherencia terapéutica (p>0.05), la frecuencia de disfuncionalidad familiar en pacientes diabéticos sin adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico fue de 39%, la frecuencia de disfuncionalidad familiar en pacientes diabéticos con adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico fue de 19%, la disfuncionalidad familiar es factor asociado a no adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en diabéticos con una RP de 2.86, IC:95% el cual fue significativo (p<0.05); lo que permite afirmar que existe asociación entre las variables en estudio. Conclusión: la disfuncionalidad familiar está asociada a la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en diabéticos del Hospital II de Talara periodo setiembre a noviembre de 2024

Material and methods: An analytical, cross-sectional study was carried out on 173 patients with a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus at Hospital II of Talara who met the selection criteria. We proceeded with the interview and data collection, which were divided into each patient based on the presence or absence of therapeutic adherence to assess the frequency of family dysfunction in each group; Subsequently, the chi square and the prevalence ratio statistician were calculated. Results: There are no differences regarding the intervening variables between diabetics with or without therapeutic adherence (p>0.05), the frequency of family dysfunction in diabetic patients without adherence to pharmacological treatment was 39%, the frequency of family dysfunction in diabetic patients with adherence to pharmacological treatment was 19%, family dysfunction is a factor associated with non-adherence to pharmacological treatment in diabetics with a PR of 2.86, CI:95% which was significant (p<0.05); which allows us to affirm that there is an association between the variables under study.
