Ubicado en Huanchaco, distrito reconocido por su riqueza arqueológica y su oferta turística, el proyecto plantea un equipamiento cultural que integra museo, centro de investigación, talleres, biblioteca, cafetería y plazas públicas, fomentando la regeneración urbana y paisajística. Más que un contenedor de uno de los hallazgos arqueológicos más relevantes de los últimos años, el museo se concibe como un elemento que establece continuidad con la ciudad, promoviendo espacios democráticos y adaptables al cambio social. El centro de investigación, como núcleo del proyecto, impulsa la preservación, el estudio y la difusión del conocimiento arqueológico, asegurando la vigencia de investigaciones locales y fortaleciendo la identidad cultural de la población. Con una escala amigable y respetuosa con su entorno, el diseño arquitectónico toma distancia de la monumentalidad, desarrollando gran parte de su programa en una planta baja a - 2.80 m, aprovechando las características del terreno, lo que invita a la comunidad a apropiarse del espacio. Este enfoque integra lo cultural, lo social y lo urbano, respondiendo a las necesidades actuales de la población, al tiempo que promueve el desarrollo sostenible y la puesta en valor de su patrimonio arqueológico.
