La presente tesis denominada: “ESTUDIO DE LA SEGURIDAD VIAL Y PEATONAL DE LAS INTERSECCIONES DE LA AVENIDA PROGRESO- DISTRITO DE CASTILLA - PIURA” fue desarrollada con el objetivo de determinar el estudio vial de dichas intersecciones de modo que, permita beneficiar a los pobladores, conductores y peatones del distrito de Castilla, departamento de Piura. Uno de los problemas más graves y con mayor urgencia a resolver, es el caos vehicular originado por la carencia de una cultura de seguridad vial y de la señalización y semaforización respectiva. Caos generador de consecuencias como, el aumento del índice de mortalidad por accidentes de tránsito, contaminación ambiental, contaminación sonora y pérdida económica debido al tiempo utilizado en el traslado de la población a sus viviendas, centro de labores, escuelas, etc. Esta investigación se realizó de acuerdo al “Manual de Seguridad Vial 2017”, “Manual de dispositivos de control de tránsito 2016” y la Metodología del “Highway Capacity Manual 2010” (HCM), con la finalidad de proponer el rediseño accesible e inclusivo de la intersección en estudio y lograr mitigar los problemas existentes

This thesis called: ““STUDY OF ROAD AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY OF THE INTERSECTIONS OF AVENIDA PROGRESO- DISTRICT OF CASTILLA - PIURA““ was developed with the aim of determining the road study of these intersections so that it allows to benefit the inhabitants, drivers and pedestrians of the district of Castilla, department of Piura. One of the most serious and urgent problems to be solved is the vehicular chaos caused by the lack of a culture of road safety and the respective signaling and traffic lights.
