Se realizó el estudio con 126 estudiantes de cuarto y quinto entre 14 y 18 años. Se utilizó la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg y el Inventario de Depresión Beck. En los resultados, se demostró que en la variable autoestima; en primer lugar, el 41% presentan autoestima elevada; en segundo lugar, el 31% presentan autoestima media; y, en tercer lugar, el 28% presentan autoestima baja. En la variable depresión; en primer lugar, el 59% presentan depresión leve; en segundo lugar, el 28% presentan depresión moderada; y, en tercer lugar, el 13% presentan depresión grave. Se concluyó que ambas variables se relacionan con una correlación negativa y moderada; valor de p = 0.001 < 0.05; Tau-b de Kendall = - 0.503.
