The study is quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 20 nursing professionals from the ICU. The technique used was the survey and the instrument was the dichotomous scale applied to our study. Of a total of 20 (100%) nursing professionals, 80.0% of the ICU nurses of the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital had a regular level of knowledge regarding the management of patients with limited therapeutic effort; and 70% of nursing professionals obtained a favorable attitude in the management of patients with limited therapeutic effort. Determining that of the 80% of participating nurses who had a regular level of knowledge, 60% showed a favorable attitude regarding the management of patients with limited therapeutic effort. There is a statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the nursing attitude in the management of patients such as Limitation of Therapeutic Effort (p= 0.028).

El estudio es de tipo cuantitativo, diseño descriptivo de corte transversal. La población de estudio estuvo conformada por 20 profesionales de enfermería de la UCI. La técnica empleada fue la encuesta y el instrumento la escala dicotómica aplicada a nuestro estudio. De un total de 20 (100%) profesionales de enfermería, el 80.0% de las enfermeras de la UCI del Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo tuvieron un nivel de conocimiento regular respecto al manejo de pacientes con limitación del esfuerzo terapéutico; y 70% de profesionales de enfermería obtuvieron una actitud favorable en el manejo de pacientes con limitación del esfuerzo terapéutico. Determinando que del 80% de enfermeras participantes que tuvieron un nivel de conocimiento regular, el 60% mostró una actitud favorable respecto al manejo de pacientes con limitación del esfuerzo terapéutico.
