Conocimiento y actitud de enfermería en manejo de pacientes limitados al esfuerzo terapéutico en Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos

The objective of this scientific research was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the level of nursing attitude in the management of patients limited to therapeutic effort in the Intensive Care Unit of the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital. The study is quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 20 nursing professionals from the ICU. The technique used was the survey and the instrument was the dichotomous scale applied to our study. Of a total of 20 (100%) nursing professionals, 80.0% of the ICU nurses of the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital had a regular level of knowledge regarding the management of patients with limited therapeutic effort; and 70% of nursing professionals obtained a favorable attitude in the management of patients with limited therapeutic effort. Determining that of the 80% of participating nurses who had a regular level of knowledge, 60% showed a favorable attitude regarding the management of patients with limited therapeutic effort. There is a statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the nursing attitude in the management of patients such as Limitation of Therapeutic Effort (p= 0.028).
