The objective of this thesis is to analyze the behavior of exports of the wood sector in the Loreto region during the period 2018-2022. A descriptive correlational approach and a non-experimental design were used. The investigation covers all exports registered in SUNAT - CUSTOMS, providing a broad and representative base for the analysis. The results show a decreasing trend in wood exports in terms of FOB value and net weight. Although the FOB value of exports decreased by 9%, net weight fell by 8%. Factors such as the slowdown in forestry production and the health measures imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted exports during the analyzed period. Additionally, wood sector exports were concentrated in a small number of markets and companies, reflecting a lack of diversification in the sector. This study is key to understanding the trade dynamics of the Loreto region and can assist in formulating policies that promote market diversification and regional economic development, supporting informed decision-making in both public and private sectors.
