Sumario:In the present study, the following research problem was had: Is there a relationship between knowledge and practice on the management of household solid waste in families of the Cecilia Ochoa Human Settlement of the District of San Juan Bautista, Loreto 2023?; while the general objective is to determine the relationship between knowledge and practice on the management of household solid waste in families of the Cecilia Ochoa Human Settlement of the District of San Juan Bautista, Loreto 2023. The type of research was quantitative, the design used was non-experimental, correlational, transversal, the sample was 88 representatives of each family. The techniques were the interview, observation and home visit, and the instruments were: the knowledge questionnaire on household solid waste management (Validity 88.02%; reliability 86.20%) and the Management Practices Checklist of household solid waste (Validity 86.12%; reliability 84.00%). The results show that 57 (64.8%) had poor knowledge, 24 (27.2%) had regular knowledge, and 7 (8.0%) had good knowledge; In practices, 58 (65.9%) carried out inadequate practices, while 30 (34.1%) carried out appropriate practices. In the inference, X2=83,735 was obtained; with df=2; p=0.000 and α=0.05, accepting the hypothesis that there is a significant statistical relationship between knowledge and practice on household solid waste management in the families studied.
