The objective of the research was to determine the relationship between knowledge about personal protection elements and preventive practices on occupational accidents in garbage collector workers of the San Juan Bautista District Municipality, of the city of Iquitos, 2022, the study was Quantitative with a non-competitive design. experimental, correlational; the population was made up of 50 garbage collector workers from the Municipality of San Juan Bautista de Iquitos. The technique was the interview; the instruments were the knowledge questionnaire on personal protection elements with 98.82% Validity and 96.0% Reliability, and the preventive practices questionnaire on occupational accidents with 98.46% Validity and 94.9% Reliability. The study determined a predominance of low knowledge with 76.0%, followed by high knowledge with 24.0%; in the practices of preventive measures on occupational accidents, bad practices predominated with 84.0% followed by good practices with 16.0%, Chi square X2 = 30.159 was found; for p = 0.000 < 0.05, df = 1 and 95% confidence level. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge about personal protection elements and preventive practices on occupational accidents in garbage collector workers of the San Juan Bautista District Municipality of the city of Iquitos, 2022.
