Maestría en Producción AnimalLa degradación de pastizales es un proceso que se caracteriza por la invasión de especies indeseables y la pérdida de productividad con la consecuente disminución de la capacidad de carga animal. El objetivo de investigación, fue reducir la cobertura del Austrocylindropuntia floccosa, a través de la quema controlada, control químico, y la integración de estos métodos. El estudio comprendió tres ensayos: el primero, evaluó la dinámica de invasión de plantas indeseables, el segundo, midió el efecto de tres métodos de control, quema y químico, más la integración de ambos en comparación con un testigo, y el tercero una evaluación económica, modelando los incrementos de capacidad de carga con horizonte de 20 años. Los resultados evidenciaron alteraciones en la estructura de la vegetación, en la que, a mayor cobertura de indeseables, se redujo la frecuencia de gramíneas, herbáceas, índice forrajero, cobertura basal de vegetación, mantillo y condición del pastizal, e incrementos en la presencia de arbustivas, pavimento de erosión y suelo desnudo. Se observaron diferencias significativas (p< 0.05) en mortalidad del A. floccosa entre tratamientos quema, control químico e integrado en relación al testigo, e igual resultado para la posición topográfica. El control de plantas indeseables, aumento la capacidad carga (UO/ha/año) desde 0.14 para el testigo, quema 0.43, químico 2.61 y control integrado 5.39. El análisis económico estimo el ingreso neto, VAN, TIR y PRK, para el testigo fue S/. 18.03, S/. -1235.04, -10%, 76.45 años; quema fue S/. 54.25, S/. - 1047.60, -3% y 27.27 años; control químico fue S/. 326.11, S/. 1008.88, 20% y 4.87 años y para el control integrado S/. 671.97, S/. 3734.82, 42% y 2.41 años, respectivamente. Se concluye que la invasión de A. floccosa altera la dinámica de la vegetación y que el método más efectivo de control, desde una perspectiva bioeconomica es el control integrado.The degradation of pastures is a process characterized by the invasion of undesirable species and the loss of productivity with the consequent decrease in animal carrying capacity. The objective of the research was to reduce the coverage of Austrocylindropuntia floccosa, through controlled burning, chemical control, and the integration of these two methods. The study comprised three trials. The first, evaluated the invasion dynamics of undesirable plants, the second, measured the effect of three methods of control, burning, chemical and the integration of both in comparison with a control, and the third realizing an economic evaluation, based on modelling the carrying increases under a 20-year planning horizon. The results showed alterations in the structure of the vegetation: a increase of plant cover of undesirable plants, a decrease in the frequency of grasses, herbaceous plants, forage index, basal plant cover, mulch and pasture condition , and a increase in the presence of shrubs, erosion pavement and bare soil Significant differences ( p < 0.05) were observed in mortality of A. floccosa between burning, chemical control and integrated treatments in relation to control regardless of topographic position. The control of undesirable’s plants, increased the carrying capacity (UO/ha/year) in 0.14 UO for the control, 0.43 UO for the burning, 2.61 for the chemical and 5.39 UO for the integrated control. The economic analysis determined net income (NI), net present value (NPV internal rate of return (IRR) and capital recovery time (KRT) of: control, US$ 5.10, US$ -349.87, -10%, 76.45 years; burning, US$ 15.37, US$ -296.77, -3% and 27.27 years; chemical control, 92.38, US$ 308.46, 20% and 4.87 years and integrated control US$. 190.36, US$. 1058.02, 42% and 2.41 years, respectively.
