Material y método: enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental explicativo, definido como prospectivo y transversal, población de 690 comuneros con vivencia estable donde se realizó una encuesta y cuestionario. Resultados: la planta medicinal más usada es el paico con un 18.6%. La parte de la planta medicinal de mayor uso es la hoja con un 49.6%. Nivel de conocimiento de los habitantes sobre el uso apropiado y propiedades de las plantas medicinales el 80.5% refieren que SI conocen y el 19.5% refieren que NO conocen. Identificamos la enfermedad digestiva más frecuentes en la comunidad nativa de Cubantia es el dolor abdominal 28.2%. Conclusiones: la planta medicinal más usada es el paico, la parte de la planta de mayor uso es la hoja, los habitantes refieren que, si conocen sobre el uso apropiado y las propiedades de las plantas, la enfermedad más frecuente es el dolor abdominal.

Method: quantitative, non-experimental explanatory approach, defined as prospective and transversal, population of 690 community members with stable residence where a survey and questionnaire were carried out. Results: the most used medicinal plant is paico with 18.6%. The most used part of the medicinal plant is the leaf with 49.6%. Level of knowledge of the inhabitants about the appropriate use and properties of medicinal plants: 80.5% say that they do know and 19.5% say that they do not know. We identified the most frequent digestive disease in the native community of Cubantia is abdominal pain 28.2%.
