En este artículo se argumenta que el texto bíblico sugiere que esta bestia que sube del mar representa a un reino político-religioso que surge después de Roma Imperial y continúa en la historia hasta el surgimiento de la bestia que sube de la tierra. Por lo tanto, la opción más viable sería que esta bestia que sube del mar sea Roma papal, siendo que es un poder político-religioso que surge después de Roma Imperial y continúa en la historia hasta el presente.
