La búsqueda se centró en bases como Scopus, Scielo, Latindex y Google Académico, publicados en los últimos seis años (2016 – 2021) tanto en español como en inglés. Los términos “comportamiento ambiental”, actitud ambiental”, conciencia ambiental” y “relación entre actitud y comportamiento ambiental”. La búsqueda permitió encontrar 20 artículos (15 en inglés y 5 en español) que hacen referencia a la importancia del conocimiento ambiental y 16 artículos (9 en inglés y 7 en español) relacionados con la conciencia ambiental como parte de la relación entre la actitud ambiental y el comportamiento ambiental de los estudiantes universitarios. Los resultados permitieron encontrar una importante discordancia en la relación entre estas variables, concluyendo en términos generales que no hay una estrecha relación entre las actitudes ambientales y el comportamiento ambiental de los estudiantes universitarios, a pesar de existir un elevado conocimiento y conciencia ambiental circunstancia que no se refleja en sus comportamientos.
