description El engagement académico es una variable que ha sido relacionada de diversas maneras con el rendimiento académico. El objetivo de esta investigación es identificar la relación entre el engagement académico y el rendimiento académico mediante la revisión de reporte aplicado de los estudios previos efectuados en este ámbito en los últimos 6 años. Siguiendo las indicaciones de la guía Prisma, se revisaron las bases de datos Apa PsycNET, Dialnet, EBSCO, Proquest, Psicodoc, Redalyc y Scopus, tomando en consideración investigaciones empíricas y cuantitativas tanto en inglés como en español (Urrutia & Bonfill, 2013). Participaron un total de 7 estudios con muestras de instituciones educativas de finales de primaria, secundaria y universitaria. Los resultados confirman relaciones significativamente positivas entre el engagement y el rendimiento académico, así como la capacidad predictiva del engagement (conductual y cognitivo, así como dimensión dedicación) sobre el rendimiento, y la funcionalidad del engagement como mediador entre otras variables y el rendimiento académico. Se propone diversas intervenciones prácticas educativas por parte del profesorado, líderes y psicólogos educativos para la mejora del engagement académico en miras al logro del éxito académico del alumnado.

The objective of this research is to identify the relationship between academic engagement and academic performance through the applicated report review of studies through carried out in this area in the last 6 years. Following the indications of the Prisma guide, the Apa PsycNET, Dialnet, EBSCO, Proquest, Psicodoc, Redalyc and Scopus databases were reviewed, taking into consideration empirical and quantitative research in English and Spanish (Urrutia & Bonfill, 2013). A total of 7 studies participated with samples from secondary school, end of primary school and university. The results confirm significant positive correlations between engagement and academic performance, as well as the predictive capacity of engagement (behavioral and cognitive, as well as the dedication dimension) on performance, and the role of engagement as a mediator among other variables and academic performance.
