The pieces were autoclaved (121 ° C x 15min), and then contaminated with strains of C. albicans ATCC ATCC S. mutans and E. faecalis ATCC. After contamination they were exposed to 0.5% NaClO, 0.12% chlorhexidine and an alkaline peroxide disinfectants for 5 min. Samples obtained from the resins were seeded in Petri plates and results were observed at 24 hours to verify the removal of the microorganisms. Results: The results were analyzed with Chi-square and Kruskal-Wallis tests. C. albicans and E. faecalis groups showed a statistically significant difference between the three disinfectants, p=0.001 and p= 0.000 respectively. Conclusions: NaOCl 0.5% and chlorhexidine 0.12% have a greater efficacy than effervescent tablets Corega Tabs® in removing C. albicans and E. faecalis adhered to thermo cured acrylic resin. The three disinfectants were effective in removing S. mutansEl objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la eficacia de tres desinfectantes en la remoción de Candida albicans, Streptococcus mutans y Enterococcus faecalis adheridos a resina acrílica de termocurado. Metodología: Se confeccionaron 51 piezas de resinas acrílicas de termocurado mediante patrones de cera con las mismas dimensiones (15mm x 15mm x 4mm) y se sometieron a un sistema de pulido simulando el de las prótesis completas. Las piezas se esterilizaron en autoclave (121 ºC x 15min) y luego fueron contaminadas con cultivos de las cepas de C. albicans ATCC, S. mutans ATCC y E. faecalis ATCC. Luego de la contaminación fueron expuestas a los agentes desinfectantes NaClO 0,5 %, clorhexidina 0,12 % y un peróxido alcalino durante 5 min. Las muestras obtenidas a partir de las resinas fueron sembradas en placas Petri y se observaron los resultados a las 24h para verificar la remoción o no de los microrganismos. Resultados: Los resultados fueron analizados con las pruebas estadísticas Chi-cuadrado y Kruskal- Wallis. Los grupos C. albicans y E. faecalis mostraron una diferencia estadísticamente significativa entre los tres agentes desinfectantes p=0.001 y p=0.000 respectivamente. Conclusiones: El NaClO 0,5 % y clorhexidina 0,12 % tienen una mayor eficacia que las pastillas efervescentes Corega Tabs® en la remoción de C. albicans y E. faecalis adheridos a resina acrílica de termocurado.
