Sumario:This study aimed to determine the relationship between intercultural competences and democratic attitudes, along with their dimensions of empathy, disposition towards cultural realities, and regulation of affective factors, among students in a Primary Education Institution in Huancavelica. A non-experimental cross-sectional design was employed, and two questionnaires were administered to measure intercultural competences and democratic attitudes in a sample of 23 fifth-grade students from the aforementioned institution. The findings revealed that 78.3% of the students exhibited a moderate level of intercultural competences, while 56.5% displayed a regular democratic attitude. The Pearson correlation analysis yielded a significance level of 0.001 and a correlation coefficient of 0.635, indicating a moderate and significant correlation. In conclusion, it was determined that intercultural competences are moderately and significantly related to democratic attitudes among students in a Primary Education Institution in Huancavelica.
