A non-experimental cross-sectional design was employed, and two questionnaires were administered to measure intercultural competences and democratic attitudes in a sample of 23 fifth-grade students from the aforementioned institution. The findings revealed that 78.3% of the students exhibited a moderate level of intercultural competences, while 56.5% displayed a regular democratic attitude. The Pearson correlation analysis yielded a significance level of 0.001 and a correlation coefficient of 0.635, indicating a moderate and significant correlation. In conclusion, it was determined that intercultural competences are moderately and significantly related to democratic attitudes among students in a Primary Education Institution in Huancavelica.Este estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar la relación entre las competencias interculturales y las actitudes democráticas, así como sus dimensiones de empatía, disposición hacia las realidades culturales y regulación de factores afectivos, en estudiantes de una Institución Educativa de Educación Primaria en Huancavelica. Se utilizó un enfoque metodológico no experimental transversal, aplicando dos cuestionarios para medir las competencias interculturales y las actitudes democráticas a una muestra de 23 estudiantes del quinto grado de primaria. Los resultados revelaron que el 78.3% de los estudiantes presentaron un nivel medio de competencias interculturales, mientras que el 56.5% mostró una actitud democrática regular. El análisis estadístico de Pearson reveló un nivel de significancia de 0.001 y un coeficiente de relación de 0.635, lo que indica una correlación moderada y significativa.
