The representative sample was 38 students in the area of ??integral communication of 4 ° A 4 ° B, 4 ° C and 4 D. 7.9% have a poor level of metacognition, the bad 57.9, 31.6% and 2.6% regular good. The 76.3% have poor reading comprehension level and 23.7% low. It reached the following conclusion: Metacognitive strategies are not related to levels of reading comprehension in students with difficulties in the communication area integral of the 4 th grade of School Fe y Alegría 23 from San Juan de Miraflores. It is recommended to train teachers of different specialties on programs of metacognitive strategies and implement a program of metacognitive strategies applied to reading comprehension for students with difficulties in the area of ??primary communication. |

Su objetivo : determinar si existe relación entre las estrategias metacognitivas y los niveles de comprensión lectora en alumnos en el área de comunicación integral del 4º grado de primaria de la Institución Educativa Fe y Alegría 23 del Distrito de San Juan de Miraflores. El tipo de investigación fue no experimental, con diseño descriptivo correlacional. Los instrumentos de recolección de datos fueron un inventario de estrategias metacognitivas y la prueba de comprensión lectora. La población de estudio fueron 97 estudiantes de la Institución Educativa Fe y Alegría 23 del Distrito de San Juan de Miraflores. La muestra representativa fue 38 estudiantes del área de comunicación integral del 4º A, 4º B, 4º C y 4º D. Los resultados arrojaron que el 7.9 % tienen un nivel de metacognición deficiente, el 57.9 malo, 31.6 % regular y el 2.6 % bueno. El 76.3 % tiene un nivel de comprensión lectora deficiente y el 23.7 % bajo. Se llegó a la siguiente conclusión: Las estrategias metacognitivas no se relacionan significativamente con los niveles de comprensión lectora, en los estudiantes del área de comunicación integral del 4º grado de primaria de la Institución Educativa Fe y Alegría 23 del Distrito de San Juan de Miraflores.
