Sumario:The research that has been carried out is a basic study, whose main objective has been to determine the relationship between reading comprehension and the production of texts in the first cycle students of a private university during 2019. This is a study with a descriptive, correlational, quantitative, non-experimental and cross-sectional scope. To collect data, two instruments were developed: a structured questionnaire that measures the reading comprehension variable, and the checklist that measures the text production variable. Both were applied to a sample made up by 102 students from the first cycle, and the technique used has been the probabilistic sampling. Each instrument was subjected to a validation and reliability process, which was carried out by experts in the specialty. After reviewing the applied tests and submitting the data to analysis, the results obtained showed that there is a significant link between reading comprehension and the production of texts in the first cycle students of a private university in 2019. The value was obtained of p = 0.000 < 0.05.
