Therefore, the objective of this research is to identify if there is a relationship between meta-cognitive strategies and the development of reading comprehension in sixth grade students at the Micaela Bastidas educational institution N.6020. The study with a quantitative approach, hypothetical deductive method, cross-sectional and ordinal level, in a sample of 60 students, the information was obtained with a Likert-type questionnaire survey validated by three expert juries and the reliability measured through Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. Descriptive correlational design. With Spearman's Rho statistician, for the hypothesis contrast it is concluded that there is a moderate significant relationship, r= .236 between metacognitive strategies and the development of reading comprehension in the aforementioned sample, by rejecting the null hypothesis by obtaining a value of less significance to the decision making of 0.05 in sixth grade students of the Micaela Bastidas Educational Institution N° 6020. Villa María del Triunfo. Lime.La problemática a nivel nacional de la falta de comprensión en los niveles literal, inferencial y criterial, es casi una constante. Por ello el objetivo de esta investigación es identificar si existe relación entre las estrategias meta cognitivas y el desarrollo de la comprensión lectora en estudiantes de sexto grado de la institución educativa Micaela Bastidas N.6020. El estudio con enfoque cuantitativo, método hipotético deductivo, corte transversal y nivel ordinal, en una muestra de 60 estudiantes, la información se obtuvo con una encuesta cuestionario tipo Likert validado por tres jurados expertos y la confiabilidad medida a través del coeficiente Alpha de Cronbach. Diseño correlacional descriptivo. Con el estadígrafo Rho de Spearman, para el contraste de hipótesis se concluye que existe relación significativa moderada, r= ,236 entre las estrategias metacognitivas y el desarrollo de la comprensión lectora en la muestra antes mencionada, al rechazarse la hipótesis nula al obtener un valor de significancia menor a la toma de decisión de 0,05 en estudiantes de Sexto grado de la Institución Educativa Micaela Bastidas N° 6020.
