This study was conducted with a basic quantitative approach and a non-experimental design, using a sample of 32 students in a correlational study. Assessment tools for both debate techniques and oral expression skills were used. The findings reveal very low positive activation, and the p-value of .001 suggests that the results are significant, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. There is a significant relationship, with a moderate score of 0.562 between the two variables, supporting the alternative hypothesis that debate techniques are significantly linked to the development of oral expression of fifth-grade students at Educational Institution No. 6063, José Carlos Mariátegui, in Villa María del Triunfo.El análisis sobre el debate y la comunicación verbal en los alumnos de quinto grado de la Institución Educativa Nº 6063, José Carlos Mariátegui, en Villa María del Triunfo, busca identificar la conexión que hay entre estas variables. Su objetivo principal es establecer si se relaciona la técnica de debates y habilidad de expresión verbal en el estudiante de quinto grado. Este estudio se realizó con un enfoque cuantitativo básico y un diseño no experimental, utilizando una muestra de 32 estudiantes en un estudio correlacional. Se utilizaron herramientas de evaluación tanto de técnicas de debates como capacidad de expresión oral. Los hallazgos revelan correlación positiva muy baja, y el p valor de ,001 sugiere que los resultados son significativos, lo que conlleva al rechazo de la hipótesis nula la aceptación de la hipótesis alternativa de la investigación.
