Aproximadamente 60% de estas muertes por lMA ocurren fuera de un hospital, y en la mayoría de los casos dentro de las primeras 2 horas de iniciados los síntomas. De hecho, en 25% no hay síntomas premonitorios y la muerte es la primera manifestación de la enfermedad coronaria.
