It is the task of the university teacher to provide the necessary conditions to develop critical thinking by using strategies that place the student as the basis of teaching work. The objective of the research was to determine the relationship between the level of critical thinking and the level of learning of mathematics of students entering university. The research is based on the quantitative correlational scope approach with transectional, correlational design. This master thesis is devoted to the state estimation of a particular form of PDE systems, coupled parabolic PDEs with spatial dependent coefficients. This form of PDEs represent some dynamic systems such as Tubular Reactors, Diffusion in lithium-ion cells and Diffusive Gradient in Thin Films sensor. Other methods for this problem use "Backstepping" observers, in which the estimation error system is transformed into another system that is stable, reducing the problem to calculate the Kernel functions making the transformation possible. In some cases this calculation is not simple, also the simulation in real time of the observer system, that is also a PDE, can be difficult. Teleosemantic is the theory that proposes an explanation of mental representation on the basis of the Darwinian theory of biological function. Although Darwin explains biological traits for both historical and adaptationist causes, Papineau and other proponents of teleosemantic rely only on the adaptationist dimension of the theory to account for the identity of the biological trait. This is shown in the teleosemantic response to the possibility that an exact duplicate of a human arose from non-evolutionary causes (the swampman). Clarifying the question about the homological nature of the trait identity is central to addressing the swampman argument. It is vitally important to carry out studies that provide knowledge about history, since this is the basis for the interpretation and enhancement of heritage. In this case, given the scarce material evidence related to the Conchos prison, it is necessary to make a reconstruction or interpretation on a hypothetical level of its structure and spaces, to better understand its functioning, as well as its role in defense, but above all, in the settlement of Nueva Vizcaya. We worked based on our experience on the subject, reviewing the historiography and also through a comparative analysis between interpretation proposals, as well as making analogies with other contemporary fortifications. Thus, a satisfactory identification and reconstruction of the property was achieved, allowing clarity about its history and role within the occupation and pacification of colonial northern Mexico.

Gaussian processes that can be decomposed into a smooth mean function and a stationary autocorrelated noise process are considered and a fully automatic nonparametric method to simultaneous estimation of mean and auto-covariance functions of such processes is developed. The proposed empirical Bayes approach is data-driven, numerically efficient, and allows for the construction of confidence sets for the mean function. Performance is demonstrated in simulations and real data analysis. The method is implemented in the R package eBsc.

This master thesis is devoted to the design, analysis, and experimental validation of an energy-based control strategy for the well-known benchmark cart-pole system in implicit Port-Hamiltonian (PH) representation. The control scheme performs two tasks: swingup and (local) stabilization. The swing-up controller is carried out on the basis of a generalized energy function and consists of bringing the pendulum trajectories from the lower (stable) position to a limit cycle (homoclinic orbit), which passes by the upright (unstable) position, as well as the cart trajectories to the desired point.
